PLAZA: The largest logistics platform in Europe

With an area of 13,117,977m2, Plaza (Zaragoza Logistics Platform), is the largest logistics facility on the European continent. Its management, execution and promotion are entrusted to Plaza SAU, a company wholly owned by Corporación Empresarial Pública de Aragón, as single shareholder company of the Aragon Government.

The quality of its services and intermodality have meant the Platform being ranked in 5th position in the European Freight Villages, and the first in Spain, in a study of over 90 Logistics parks from 30 European countries carried out by the German specialist consultant Deutsche GVZ and the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics in Germany (for navigation and logistics).

The main advantage of Plaza is as an intermodal transport centre with a concentration of high-quality plots, railway terminal, kilometre zero airport (passengers and goods, 3rd for cargo in the country) and connections with some of the main motorways in the centre and north of the Peninsula, such as the A2 (Madrid-Barcelona), A68 (Basque Country-Aragon toll road) and the A23 (Mudéjar motorway). This combination makes Zaragoza one of the most important logistics cities in Europe, with connections to the most important centres of European production and consumption, and a benchmark in the south of the continent.

This intermodality reinforces the values of location and centrality of the site, and is completely open to companies with business related to logistics, to which Plaza offers a series of collective facilities and common services to increase the profitability of its location. Intermodality also implies decisive synergies in the logistics chains that all operators need.

In addition, the Aragón Logistics Platform initiative at Plaza offers first level training and innovation, with leading centres in the development and logistical fields, which has become a global commitment in the region.
