Plaza, the Zaragoza Logistics Platform, is ranked 5th in the European Freight Villages, and the best in Spain, in a study of over 90 logistics parks in Europe carried out by the German specialist consultant Deutsche GVZ and the Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics in Germany (for navigation and logistics). Their report is the result of a survey by these organisations after gathering information on all the research centres and a visit from their technicians to all European facilities. The study was of over 90 logistics parks in more than 30 countries throughout Europe, although 240 participated in the first phase. This is the second edition of this European ranking. In the first one, published in 2010, Plaza occupied 12th position. This list of the best logistics centres assesses the development status of the different transport and logistics centres from the following points of view:

The first section of the German report highlighted the “excellent intermodality” developed in Plaza. It also emphasised that Spain is a pioneer in the establishment of transport and logistics centres. The methodology used consisted of evaluating 40 performance indicators, divided into 16 areas of action, among which were intermodality, safety, development status, strengths and weaknesses analysis and location within the European Transport Network (TEN-T).

Es en el primer apartado en el que el informe alemán destaca “la excelente intermodalidad” desarrollada en Plaza. Además, el estudio destaca que España es pionera en el establecimiento de centros de transporte y logística. La metodología empleada consistió en la valoración de 40 indicadores de rendimiento, divididos en 16 áreas de actuación entre las que destacan intermodalidad, seguridad, estado de desarrollo, análisis de fortalezas y debilidades ubicación dentro de la Red Europea de Transporte (TEN-T), etc.
