The public company, Aragón Logistic Platforms (APL), created to centralise and optimise the management of these endeavours, will take part in the XIX Barcelona International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition (SIL). APL will be installed in the central section of the Hall, with a 50m2 stand, where all the necessary information about the integrated Aragonese commitment will be available. This brings together the public and private efforts made to demonstrate the worth of the excellent facilities Aragon has as a logistics node, both in land and infrastructure, training and research in the development and promotion of the sector. The Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, Marta Gastón, will act as a host from this Tuesday at this international presentation of APL.
Because logistics distribution accounts for 30% of the cost of a product, this common part of a business is key to its competitive improvement; hence the value of a good presentation in the work to attract new investment for the territory.
The SIL is an international reference event and will be attended by more than 600 companies, and is a meeting point for the main logistics sector agents in Spain and the rest of the world. This year’s exhibition will revolve around the theme of innovation, in which Aragón can boast of its excellence, with such great references as the Zaragoza Logistics Centre (ZLC) and the Technological Institute of Aragon.
After the opening of the event on Tuesday, the APL stand will be the setting for its presentation and will be attended by the councillor, Marta Gastón, during the first two days. Gastón, along with the APL team, will present the initiative to companies and will provide an assessment of the success of the new commercial approach that the Aragon logistics platforms have undertaken in the last two years.
Creation of the company
Aragón Logistic Platforms (APL) is a public company created to centralise all the logistics assets of the Community as was published in the Aragon Official Gazette last Friday. The company promotes and unifies the management and marketing of its platforms, infrastructure and support services, as well as the excellent values linked to top-level training in logistics and research into the competitive improvement of this important part of business. These values have already made Aragon the logistics reference centre in southern Europe, as evidenced by the presence of almost 400 companies that have opted to locate their reference distribution centres there. Many of them, as well as the logistics cluster of Aragón ALÍA, have participated in the initiative to boost the sector in Aragón, a commitment from the entire Community for logistics development.
